Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté 2009 for Dr.Hauschka Italia

Milan, 16 March 2009 – “People who buy a Dr.Hauschka product embrace a natural lifestyle that is geared towards substance rather than form.” – “Chi acquista un loro prodotto sposa un modo di vivere: naturale, volto alla sostanza e non alla forma”.

With these words, Vanity Fair editor Marta Caramelli presented the Ethics Award of the Italian edition of prominent fashion magazine Marie Claire to Fausto Panni, head of WALA Italia.

At the awards ceremony held in Milan on 16 March 2009, the work of cosmetics manufacturers was acknowledged by a national panel of judges made up of freelance journalists for well-known lifestyle publications such as Cosmopolitan, Elle and Marie Claire. In this connection, the judges singled out a number of companies for a special award in light of their ethical conduct.

One of the main reasons for awarding this prize to WALA Italia, a subsidiary of WALA Heilmittel GmbH and manufacturer of natural medicines and Dr.Hauschka Skin Care, was its company tradition: ‘Nature’s treasures transformed for you’. Respect for nature and natural resources has been central to the business activities of this German company ever since its earliest days. The panel of judges were won over in particular by the various activities and projects undertaken by the manufacturer overseas, the high-quality natural ingredients used, the recyclability of the cosmetics packaging and the communication and positioning of the brand on the international market.

As this award has gone mainly to manufacturers of conventional cosmetics in recent years, it was all the more heart-warming to see it being accepted by Fausto Panni.
