In 1935 Rudolf Hauschka founded the first WALA Laboratory in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, Germany, where he began production of the WALA medicines. In 1950 the still small company with seven employees moved to Bad Boll/Eckwälden, where WALA is still domiciled today, with a current workforce of 530 employees. Hauschka's initial contacts with Elisabeth Sigmund were followed by a phase of intensive work together, culminating in 1967 in the launch of Dr.Hauschka cosmetics as a complement to the WALA medicines.
